Terms of Service
Last updated October 27, 2026
Hone by Relicon ("Hone") is a planning tool for tasks, goals, lists, notes and journals, offered by Relicon LLC ("we", "us"). These terms are the agreement between you and us when you use Hone on the web, in the iPhone app, or inside another program. By creating an account or using Hone, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use Hone.
Our Privacy Policy explains what Hone collects and how it's used. It is part of these terms.
1. Your account
- You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live) to use Hone.
- Give accurate information, and keep your sign-in (your email and any connected Google account) secure. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
- If you set up Hone for a business or team, you confirm you're allowed to accept these terms for it, and the account owner is responsible for the people they add.
- Tell us right away at garrett@relicbuilt.com if you think someone else has gotten into your account.
2. Your content is yours
Everything you put into Hone (tasks, goals, lists, notes, photos, journal entries and the rest) belongs to you. You give us permission to store, copy, process and display it only as needed to run Hone for you: for example, to sync it across your devices, show it to the people you share it with, send you reminders, and run the AI features you use. We don't sell your content and don't use it for advertising.
You are responsible for your content and for having the right to put it in Hone. When you share a list or note, the people you share it with can see it (and edit a shared list) until you stop sharing it.
3. AI features
Some features use artificial intelligence, provided through Anthropic's Claude: reading planner photos, suggesting tasks from email, summarizing journal entries and monthly look-backs. To do this, the relevant text or image is sent to Anthropic for processing. Anthropic does not use it to train its models.
AI can be wrong. Suggestions wait for your approval before they become tasks, and you should check anything important before relying on it. Nothing in Hone is legal, financial, medical, or other professional advice.
4. Connected services
- Google. If you connect a Google account, Hone reads your calendar and email, and adds calendar events you create in Hone, as described in the Privacy Policy. You can disconnect at any time.
- AI apps (such as Claude or ChatGPT). If you connect one to Hone, it can read and add to your Hone the way you allow when you connect it, and it acts on your instructions. You can disconnect it at any time in Settings. That app's own terms and privacy policy cover what it does with what it reads.
- Other business systems. If you make an integration key, the system you give it to can send tasks into your Hone. Keep keys private and remove one in Settings if it's no longer needed.
These services are run by other companies under their own terms. We aren't responsible for them, and Hone may stop working with one if that company changes or ends its service.
5. Using Hone fairly
Please don't:
- use Hone for anything illegal, or to harass, threaten or harm anyone;
- upload content you don't have the right to share, or anything that infringes someone else's rights;
- try to get into accounts or data that aren't yours, or test, probe or get around Hone's security;
- overload Hone, scrape it, or use automated tools on it other than the connections Hone provides;
- copy, resell or rebuild Hone, or reverse engineer it except where the law allows.
We may remove content or suspend an account that breaks these rules, and will tell you why when we reasonably can.
6. Paid plans
Some features may be part of a paid plan. When they are, the price and what's included are shown before you buy. Payments are handled by Stripe or, in the iPhone app, by Apple.
- Plans renew automatically each month or year until you cancel. You can cancel at any time, and you keep paid features until the end of the period you've paid for.
- Payments are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise, or where we decide to give a refund.
- If a price changes, we'll tell you before your next renewal, and you can cancel before it takes effect.
- Prices don't include taxes unless stated; you're responsible for any that apply.
7. Changes and availability
Hone is growing, and we may add, change or remove features. We work to keep Hone running and your data safe, but we can't promise it will always be available or error-free. Keep your own copy of anything you can't afford to lose (for example, export your journal from Hone).
8. Ending your account
You can stop using Hone at any time. To delete your account and everything in it, go to Settings → Account → Delete my account (or email garrett@relicbuilt.com). Deleting removes your information from Hone right away, apart from copies held in backups for a limited time, or anything the law requires us to keep.
We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, or if the law requires it. If we ever shut Hone down, we'll give at least 30 days' notice so you can export your information.
9. Disclaimers
Hone is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. You use Hone at your own risk, including deciding what to do based on what it shows or suggests.
10. Limits on our liability
To the extent the law allows, Relicon LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising from your use of Hone. Our total liability for any claim about Hone is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for Hone in the 12 months before the claim, or $50. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
11. If something goes wrong
You agree to cover Relicon LLC's reasonable costs from claims by others that arise from your content or from your breaking these terms. If you have a concern, please email garrett@relicbuilt.com first; most things can be sorted out quickly that way.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Nebraska, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Nebraska, and you and we agree to those courts' jurisdiction.
12. The iPhone app
If you got Hone from Apple's App Store, these terms are between you and Relicon LLC, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for Hone or its content, has no obligation to provide support or maintenance for it, and is not responsible for any claims about it (including product liability, legal or regulatory claims, or intellectual-property claims). If the app fails to meet any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the app's price, if any; Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them. You also agree to Apple's App Store terms, and confirm you are not in a country under a U.S. government embargo or on a U.S. list of prohibited or restricted parties.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Hone changes. If a change is significant, we'll tell you in Hone or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use Hone after that means you accept the new terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed.
14. Everything else
These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about Hone. If part of them can't be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a part right away, we haven't given up the right to later. You can't transfer your account or these terms to someone else without our agreement; we may transfer them as part of a merger, sale or reorganization of the business.
